Trinity College Dublin, one of the oldest universities in Ireland. The University is the sole constituent college of the University of Dublin founded in 1592 with some 12,800 students and 1,200 staff. Trinity's academic staff numbers in the region of 500, and a quarter of its student population are postgraduates, actively covering all the major scientific and other disciplines. The College has 66 departments across 6 faculties and currently has over 1000 active research accounts and 800 self-financing activities.

The College is currently finalising the establishment of an Enterprise Centre, close to the College, and has proposed the establishment of a Technopole in the Dublin Docklands for full-scale knowledge based commercial business. Trinity is due to open this new 'Enterprise Centre' this summer; to support expansion of its campus company programmes and to foster better links with small to medium sized enterprises.
